What is Matcha Protein?
Longelite Matcha Protein is a complete protein drink with premium Japanese matcha, designed as a practical way to support daily protein intake. It contains high-quality whey protein with a complete amino acid profile, premium matcha as a source of catechins, L-theanine and naturally occurring caffeine, and powdered coconut milk for a smooth, creamy texture and consistency. It contains no sweeteners and is completely unsweetened – ideal for those who prefer the clean, slightly bitter taste of authentic matcha, while also allowing versatile use (in porridge, yogurt, smoothies, baking, protein ice cream, or simply as a classic shake). The product is suitable for a wide range of users – people who need an easy and high-quality way to increase protein intake (athletes, people with increased recovery demands, women during perimenopause and menopause, older adults aiming to prevent sarcopenia, as well as people with irregular eating habits or lower appetite). At the same time, it appeals to those who want to combine the functional benefits of matcha with a high-quality protein source in a single drink.

Key Active Ingredients
Whey Protein
Whey protein is one of the highest-quality protein sources thanks to its complete amino acid profile, high bioavailability and rapid absorption.
Matcha
Matcha is finely ground green tea containing catechins, L-theanine and naturally occurring caffeine, supporting attention, calm alertness and antioxidant protection.
Coconut Milk
Powdered coconut milk gives the drink a creamy texture, softens the taste of matcha and contributes a small amount of quality fats, including MCTs.
Why Longelite Matcha Protein?
The product combines clinically supported active ingredients with the aim to:
- easily and enjoyably supplement high-quality protein – to support muscle protein synthesis, recovery and prevention of muscle loss (sarcopenia),
- provide the body with polyphenols from matcha, especially catechins including EGCG, which are involved in protecting cells against oxidative stress,
- support attention and cognitive performance – the synergy of L-theanine and a mild dose of caffeine from matcha provides a state of “calm alertness” without the nervousness typical of higher doses of coffee,
- contribute to cardiometabolic health – regular intake of green tea and its catechins has been associated in clinical studies and meta-analyses with beneficial effects on blood pressure, LDL cholesterol and glycemic control,
- maintain satiety and support glycemic stability – the combination of high-quality protein with matcha polyphenols helps moderate the postprandial rise in blood glucose and prolongs the feeling of fullness,
- provide a functional format – one drink that can be used universally (shake, porridge, yogurt, smoothie, baking, protein ice cream),
- maintain a clean formula – no sweeteners, no flavors, no fillers and no colorants.
We place emphasis on the highest quality of raw ingredients – from whey protein to carefully selected Japanese matcha – and independent laboratory testing.

What does science say?
“Whey protein is one of the best-studied dietary supplements of all – its effects on muscle protein synthesis, body composition, recovery and metabolic health have been confirmed by hundreds of clinical studies and dozens of meta-analyses across different populations, from young athletes to older adults. In older adults, sufficient intake of high-quality protein, especially leucine, is now considered a key element in the prevention of sarcopenia and frailty syndrome, which are among the strongest predictors of loss of independence in later life.
Matcha has been receiving growing scientific attention in recent years. Randomized controlled studies in healthy young adults have shown that two weeks of regular matcha consumption improves sustained attention under psychological stress (PMID:33744591). In older adults with mild cognitive impairment, twelve months of daily intake of 2 g matcha improved attention, emotion recognition and sleep quality compared with placebo (PMID:39213264). Mechanistically, its effects are mainly linked to three compounds: EGCG (a strong antioxidant and modulator of inflammation), L-theanine (which acts through alpha brain waves, supports attention and reduces stress) and caffeine. Meta-analyses of green tea and EGCG also repeatedly show mild but clinically relevant improvements in cardiometabolic markers – blood pressure, LDL cholesterol and fasting glucose (PMID:21715508; 36689359; 32670385).
For completeness, it should be added that the effects of matcha are mostly mild and cumulative. The strongest scientific evidence supports long-term regular consumption rather than one-off doses. From our perspective, matcha is therefore one of the most interesting daily “functional” foods worth including – not only for its taste, but also for its whole spectrum of mild yet consistent benefits.”

How to Use Matcha Protein?
- Recommended daily serving: 30 g.
- Directions for use: Mix one slightly heaped scoop (30 g) with 200–350 ml of water or milk.
- Form: instant powder – ideally mixed with water or milk, suitable for immediate consumption.
- Time of use: Due to the caffeine content from matcha (~24 mg per serving), it is best consumed in the morning or not too late in the afternoon (depending on individual caffeine sensitivity). Suitable after training as a recovery drink or anytime during the day as a protein-rich meal.
- Regularity: Some effects of matcha (cognitive and cardiometabolic) require regular long-term use – in clinical studies, benefits typically appeared after 2 weeks to several months of daily consumption.
- Combination options: Can be consumed on its own mixed with water or milk, or added to porridge, yogurt, smoothies or cottage cheese. Also suitable for baking or as a base for protein ice cream.
- From a supplementation perspective, it pairs well with Longelite Cognitive Support and Longelite Pure Glycine.
- For more intensive training, it can be replaced or combined with Longelite Post-Workout Complex (for example Matcha Protein in the morning and Post-Workout Complex after training).
- We do not recommend consuming it simultaneously with another significant dose of caffeine (coffee, energy drinks), to keep total daily caffeine intake within a comfortable range.
- The product is suitable for long-term use as part of a daily diet.
- It contains no artificial sweeteners, flavors, colorants or fillers – purity and functionality were key priorities.
- It is completely unsweetened; its natural flavor reflects the combination of high-quality matcha, whey and coconut milk (if you prefer a sweeter taste, the Matcha-Coco Protein version with stevia is available, or you can add your own sweetener according to preference).
- Suitable for anyone who wants to support protein intake, muscle mass, recovery, cognitive function and cardiometabolic health in the long term.
Warnings
Not intended as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Contains caffeine. Keep out of reach of children. Not suitable for children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or individuals allergic to any of the ingredients used. Store tightly closed in a dry and dark place.
Who is it not recommended for?
Use of this dietary supplement is not recommended for:
- people allergic to milk proteins (due to whey content) or any other ingredient,
- people with serious kidney or liver disease without consultation with a physician,
- people highly sensitive to caffeine or with severe insomnia (especially when consumed later in the day),
- people taking anticoagulants (e.g. warfarin) or medications metabolized through cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYP1A, CYP3A) without consulting a physician – high doses of catechins from matcha may interact.
